How does the microbial life look like on our house floors? How is it connected with our health and wellbeing? What’s the impact of nearby parks or pets? Can microbes even travel through the city?

During this year’s European Researchers Night on 30 September, CIRCLES asked citizens to contribute and learn more about the microbial life that surrounds them every day.

The challenge: Citizens help to create the first city map of the house-floor microbiomes in Bologna, discovering the invisible and beneficial life of the city! They got test kits and were asked to take samples of the their house-floor microbiome.
